About this Event

Join our planning sessions to build the economic future of the Evansville region!

The Evansville Regional Economic Partnership is developing a new 5-year Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy (CEDS). This economic development planning process is designed to enable the region to become more resilient, equitable and competitive. E-REP will be hosting in-person workshops covering various topic areas, including:

  • Strengthen Key Industries
  • Attract and Support a Talented Workforce
  • Develop Key Regional Infrastructure

This Build Session is focused on infrastructure. It will explore bolstering infrastructure investments in the region to encourage economic development. Specific topics could include: housing, water, sewer, electrical, and support for rural infrastructure development.

More about a CEDS:

A CEDS is a vital component of establishing and maintaining a robust economic ecosystem by building regional capacity – through hard and soft infrastructure – that contributes to individual, firm, and community success. It provides a vehicle for individuals, organizations, local governments, learning institutes, and private industry to build strategies that will best serve economic development in the region. This planning effort, completed in partnership with Fourth Economy, aims to gather key insights on how the Evansville Region can grow in key areas. More about the CEDS planning process is available here: https://www.evansvilleregion.com/ceds/

More about Build Sessions and what to expect:

Fourth Economy will facilitate these engagement events, using our Build Session approach. A Build Session is an interactive workshop to brainstorm, prioritize, and build solutions. Build Sessions emphasize the focus on moving past talking about problems and toward building solutions. This process engages the stakeholders who know the issues best, and those who will likely be involved in implementing the solutions. Engagement is critical to developing realistic solutions that have buy-in from key stakeholders.

During build sessions, participants utilize tactile forms of engagement — sticky notes, mind maps, etc. — to document ideas that are co-created and discussed during the sessions. We use a human centered design approach to ensure discussions and solutions developed are rooted in the issues and experiences of those participating, and utilize “How might we…” questions to encourage people to think beyond just problem identification and toward creative problem solving.
