About this Event
Howdy partners, we decided to kick off our 10th Annual Hootenanny with a good 'ol fashioned chili throwdown. Here in these parts we're not going to discriminate- beans, no beans, meat, no meat, all chili is welcome. You just better make sure that it's better than the fella' cooking next to ya.
SET UP:
- Chili cookoff unloading is from 8 am to 9 am in the loading dock.
- Each team will receive a 10x10 space (tent and table not included).
- Table flair encouraged.
- Each team will recieve 2oz tasting cups for sampling, 3 pitchers (1 for the chili and 2 for consuming), spoons, and paper towels.
- Hand washing station and hot water available.
- Cooking will commence at exactly 10 am.
- Teams will start sampling at 2 PM.
- People's choice and guest judging will conclude at 4PM.
- Winners of competition will be announced at 4:30PM.
THE RULES:
- No more than 4 partners per team.
- Teams will be responsible for bringing their own cooking utensils and cooking equipment. Only propane under 5 gallons is allowed.
- Must use a pitcher of Eureka Heights beer during cooking.
- Chili must be prepared from scratch on-site the day of event. Precut vegetables and pre-cooked meat are acceptable.
- Teams must make no less than 4 gallons of chili.
- Teams must wear gloves while cooking and serving.
- Absolutely no outside alcohol allowed. Violations will result in forfeit.
THE PRIZE:
First Place: Eternal Glory, $100 gift card, a pretty cool trophy.
Second Place: $50 Eureka Heights Gift Card, a smaller trophy.
Third Place: A custom participation spoon and a can of chili.
Judges Choice: A cool but different trophy.
