You're invited to the opening night for Eulogies - a first solo art exhibition by Pattern Reid. This exhibition is an ode to the earth in all it's ancient presence, and a eulogy to the wilderness inside us all. It showcases raw charcoal drawings that try to capture a feeling of yearning for the natural world - a world that we've forgotten we are part of. How do you capture the warm smell of rotting leaves, the feeling of damp ocean air on our skin? The sound of a million circadas, a single Ruru when everything is silent. The aliveness of the ngahere, and for the death of the wildness in all of us.
