MAY 17: OREGON SUPPORTED LIVING PROGRAM (OSLP)
JESSICA: Jessica Ruth Baker has served as the development director for Oregon Supported Living Program (OSLP) for just over a year. In this role, she coordinates all fundraising activities, serves as the public face of the organization in the media and the community, and oversees all outbound marketing and communication. Jessica started her nonprofit career at the Oregon Contemporary Theatre in downtown Eugene. She was their first marketing and communications manager, after serving as their marketing intern throughout her master's program. When COVID hit, the theatre had to downsize, and she was left to find another avenue for work. The Very Little Theatre was looking for a development and communications manager, but after six months in the role, it was clear to Jessica that they needed full-time professional executive leadership. She created the role of Interim Executive Director, the first full-time role at VLT, and served for 15 months before moving on to OSLP and handing the reins to an incoming Executive Director.

While she was navigating all of these changes, Jessica also served as the secretary for Greeters in 2022, and was elected co-chair with Chris Patterson for 2023. The Greeters program was still reeling from the effects of COVID, and Chris and Jessica successfully navigated the return to in-person meetings throughout 2023 by holding alternating in-person and virtual meetings every week. She is thrilled to see Greeters back in person full time, and is proud to have helped steer the ship during difficult times so that Greeters could emerge stronger than ever on the other side. In her free time (what free time?) she serves on the boards for Free Shakespeare in the Park, the UO PPPM Advisory board, and the Creswell Chamber of Commerce. Jessica also enjoys eating good food, playing video games, and going for walks in the forest with her partner of 14 years, Jon.

Since 1978, OSLP has empowered adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities in Eugene and Springfield. Today, OSLP owns and operates 18 group homes in our community, supports over 20 individuals who live in outside housing of their choice, and operates one of the only fully accessible arts and culture programs in Lane County. With close to 200 employees and a $12 million budget, OSLP has been consistently ranked high in the top 100 nonprofits to work for in Oregon for six years in a row.
