ETTECON is a film production company that assembled a dedicated rock band specifically for the soundtrack of The Miner’s Son (A Rock ’n’ Roll Dream). The original soundtrack is now available on EvoVinyl, CD, digital download, and features two official video singles to date.Songwriter Juliette Short transformed what began as a simple dream into a fully realised feature film. Originally a small passion project, The Miner’s Son grew in ambition as Juliette’s creativity was fuelled by her deep-rooted love of rock ’n’ roll, punk, and metal.
She collaborated with Kevin and the Ettecon band—a group of longtime friends spanning more than four decades, united by their shared passion for rock music.
Their collective vision was to craft songs with the unmistakable power of classic 80s rock, drawing inspiration from iconic bands such as Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Def Leppard, and the heavy legacy of Black Sabbath.
Kevin, who composed the majority of the soundtrack, brought his early punk-rock influences to the forefront, adding rawness, urgency, and driving energy to the music. The result is a dynamic collection of songs—from heart-wrenching power ballads to fast-paced punk-inspired tracks—that reflect the rebellious spirit of the film’s industrial-era storyline. Each track contributes
its own unique flavour to the narrative.
Now, ETTECON bring the soundtrack to life on stage with a special live performance at Ramsgate Music Hall.
