Englantilainen Sam Lee esiintyi Etnosoi!ssa vuonna 2013 ja kosketti yleisöä poeettisella konsertillaan. Kaivattu artisti yhtyeineen palaa Helsinkiin kriitikoiden kiittelemän kolmannen albuminsa ‘Old wow’ kera.
Lee on Mercury Prize –ehdokkuuden kaapannut folk-laulaja, laulujen tallettaja, trubaduuri, promoottori, eräopas ja aktivisti. Hän on sielukas ja suurisydäminen tulkitsija, jolle luonto ja linnut ovat sydäntä lähellä. Lee on kiertänyt festivaaleja ympäri maailmaa, mutta suurimman yleisön hänen musiikkinsa lienee saavuttaneen, kun Hollywood ohjaaja Guy Ritchie pyysi häntä kirjoittamaan tunnusmusiikin King Arthur: Legend of the Sword –elokuvaan. The Devil and The Huntsman -kappaletta on streamattu pelkästään Spotify:ssä yli 15 miljoonaa kertaa.
Artisti julkaisi ensimmäisen kirjansa The Nightingale, Satakieli maaliskuussa 2021.

Sam Lee & Friends performed at Etnosoi! in 2013, following the release of his debut Ground Of Its Own the previous year. At that point completely unknown to Finnish audiences, he startled and astonished listeners, moving their collective heart to the core.
Old Wow is Lee’s third album. This is how he describes the birth of this poetic, profound album, which seems to travel through celestial stardust:
“A buzzard came swooping down and screeched right over my head, then circled above me for some while sounding down onto me. At that moment, I felt the presence and reassurance of this magical power and suddenly at that moment the name appeared, Old Wow, and I’ve held onto it ever since.”
In March 2021, Sam Lee released his debut book called The Nightingale.
