The Ethical Culture Institute at NYSEC invites you to join Dr. Carolyn A. Parker to hear and discuss her research: "Ethical Culture at Carnegie Hall: NYSEC's Eighteenth Season (1893-1894)." This research explores a period of growth in NYSEC's history as Carnegie Hall became its meeting house and NYSEC's role in municipal reform began to grow during a period of economic distress. She will discuss the lectures of Felix Adler and others on such topics as "Freedom of Conscience," "Science and Ethics," and "Woman's Influence." Dr. Parker will also explore the value and pitfalls of secondary sources when primary sources are hard to find.
