Get inspired and cultured by The Desert Rose String Quartet (of the West Valley Symphony) Painted Violins Concert on Friday, December 5, 7-8:30pm at the Estrella Mountain Community College Performing Arts Center (PAC). The Quartet will perform a variety of music from the past to the present, from classic Mozart to the fun of Broadway, and movie music themes.
The quartet features the talent of teacher and musician, Claire Gordon on 1st violin, Christopher Reed on 2nd violin, Jennifer Cox on Cello, and Sidni Powell on Viola.
Claire Gordon and Jennifer Cox have performed at Arizona Broadway Theatre and Desert Rose Quartet over the last several years. Sidni Powell, Grand Canyon University graduate and freelance musician, also teaches at Musical Surprise. Christopher Reed is a recent transplant from the Shreveport (Louisiana) Symphony.
The fundraising concert, presented by the nonprofit West Valley Arts Council, will compliment the new Painted Violins Art Exhibit on display at the Estrella Mountain Community College Performing Arts Center located at 3000 N Dysart Rd, Avondale, AZ 85392 from November 18 - December 20. 2025.
With skill and imagination, local artist friends redesigned 20 orphaned violins merging art and culture in a new way. The violins will be on display at the PAC and in an online auction with proceeds of the auction and concert benefiting the programs of the nonprofit West Valley Arts Council. The Council provides exhibiting opportunities for local artists, musical performances, art mentoring programs, and actively engages growing the arts and culture community and resources in the West Valley of Arizona.

Advance reservations are required. No physical ticket or printout needed. Eticket reservations can be purchased through this Eventbrite listing or by calling the West Valley Arts Council at (623) 584-2626, Wednesday-Saturday, 10am-4pm. Tickets will not be available at the door.
Open seating begins at 6:30pm.
