Our last concert of the 2023-24 season features one of the most loved symphonies in all the repertoire. Inspired by Dvorak’s experience of the ‘New World’, it occupies a place firmly in the hearts of all music lovers. Less familiar will be the overture, the final of our female composer offerings for this year, and also the brilliant Barber Cello Concerto. I’m delighted to welcome back our young soloist Dan Brandon to perform this enigmatic piece that will stretch soloist and orchestra alike - Robert Hodge, Music Director
