The Essex Podcast Festival is a brand-new multi-venue event, brought to you by Chelmsford For You, taking place in Chelmsford on 28th and 29th September 2024. The festival features a mix of live podcasts, networking and workshops hosted in various venues across the city centre. With Chelmsford being the Birthplace of Radio, the festival’s mission is now to establish Essex as one of the leading podcasting communities in the UK.Each podcast will be staged in front of a live audience and features a mix of leading podcasters and guests from the county covering a range of topics including music, sport, comedy, witches, lifestyle, climate change, business, creativity and more. ⛸️ ICEBREAKERS - ON ICE
Dancing On Ice professional skaters and hosts of the Icebreakers podcast, Matt Evers and Frankie Seaman, come to you live from Riverside Ice Rink.
On Sunday 29 September, join this very special Sunday Morning Skate session, get those skates on and join Matt and Frankie on the ice, right here in Chelmsford!
An area of the Ice Rink will be sectioned off for a 30 – 45 minute Q&A session (starting at 10:15am) lead by the Chelmsford For You podcast hosts, Sara and Will. Get ready to ask the Dancing On Ice Stars all the questions about their successful podcast, upcoming series 2, their time on the show and even nab some skating tips.
Following this, Matt and Frankie will join you throughout the skate session.

ITV’S Professional Ice Skaters Matt Evers and Frankie Seaman have appeared on an astonishing 26 series of Dancing on Ice between them, they’ve toured the world and thrilled audiences at ice rinks up and down the country with their very own professionals on ice show and now they’re back together again to present the Icebreakers podcast, giving Dancing On Ice fans their expert insight into what goes on behind the scenes of the countries most spectacular show on ice!
2024’s hugely successful, debut podcast series had over 1.6 million views, (charting in Spotify’s top 5 for entertainment podcasts), giving listeners and viewers a unique deep dive into the slippiest show on TV from a professional viewpoint, answering burning questions from fans and interviewing some incredibly special celebrity guests who had previously taken part in ITV’s sparkliest competition, including, Denise Welsh, David Seaman, Gemma Collins, Duncan James and Michelle Heaton. With this years contestants Adele Roberts and Claire Sweeney also swiftly joining the conversation at the end of their journeys on ITVs hottest show, series 2 is set to be a sure fire hit!

For day two of the Essex Podcast Festival, we’re taking ‘An Audience With…’ to independent grassroots venue, Hot Box.
This event features an afternoon of live podcasts from some of the leading podcasters in Chelmsford and surrounding areas. The shows will be staged in front of a live audience and cover a range of thought provoking, entertaining themes and topics from comedy to taboo subjects, and impact of cancer to 80s music.
