The last hour and a half we will create a finished landscape, beginning to end using these new skills.
Part 2 of "Essentials of watercolor"
Attending part 1 is not necessary but it is helpful if you are a novice. This class is great for those who have dabbled in watercolor but have been frustrated in learning the water to pigment ratio, layering of paint and understanding more complex techniques. This 3 hour course we will practice how to layer, glaze, how to prevent and purposely create "blooms" while choosing colors that work well together. We will create several flower paintings and learn about watercolor ground (liquid frisket or drawing gum), how to stretch and set up paper, and learn the basics of wet on wet vs wet on dry. Other more interesting and harder to achieve methods will be demonstrated and practices as well such as: negative painting, lifting off, glazing and lost edges.
All professional materials will be provided for use and there will be a variety of tools, paper and printed materials to take home.
