Essentials of Grant Fundraising

Part 1: Foundation in Fundraising - 3 June 1.30 - 4.30

• Learn the seven basic elements that must go in any funding bid
• Know what funders mean by 'need' and be able to respond convincingly
• Understand the four sources of external funding, identify how grants fit into the wider picture, and be aware of other funding options
• Recognise key 'buzz' words funders use and know what they mean

Part 2: Core Knowledge 10 June 1.30 - 4.30

• Learn how to find the most appropriate funding streams for your project
• Be clear about outcomes: how to write them, how to measure them, and how to tell funders about them
• Recognise the common 'fail' and 'reject' reasons, and be able confidently to avoid them

Part 3: Advanced Skills 17 June 1.30 - 4.30

• Understand, and be able to use, key steps to persuasive writing
• Know, and be able to evidence persuasively, your project's unique selling point
• Recognise how to present projects in a way that will ensure core costs are covered
• Understand the elements of a funding strategy and know how to create one for your project

Melody Clarke from Beware of the Bull has over 25 years' experience writing successful bids and running training courses to share her skills. She's distilled her knowledge and experience to bring you a fantastic course that will get your bid writing skills up to scratch.

The training is free. This training is open to all Voluntary, Community and Social Enterprise (VCSE) organisations based and operating in the city of York or with beneficiaries in York.
