Each one of the girls is beautiful, but that is not what we are judging. Our emphasis lies on attributes such as education, grace, and poise. Participation in the annual Miss AMS pageant mandates contestants to compose an essay, a component contributing to 50% of their initial score, during our Essay Day event.The essay prompt will not be given ahead of time though we have been known to give a hint through Remind on any prompts that might be one that you should think about.
CONTESTANTS: When school is dismissed, join us at the cafe where snacks will be available for purchase. Take a few minutes to enjoy your snacks and use the restroom. You will receive the essay prompt, a rubric, and a graphic organizer. Utilize your laptop to compose your essay and submit it within the 90-minute timeframe. There will be designated areas for individual work or smaller groups if you prefer a quieter setting. Additionally, speech-to-text will be permitted for your essay. The session will begin at 4 pm and conclude at 5:30 pm. Following the submission of your essay, you may leave.
PARENTS: Essay time ends at 5:30, but for those who are unable to arrive by 5:30 pm, I will be staying until 6 pm. Please be aware that the girls will not have access to their phones during the session. If you have any questions, do not hesitate to contact me via Remind.
