Hearing screenings are vital in identifying hearing loss in children and preventing problems with communication, learning and development. Middle-ear fluid build up commonly occur in young children as a result of cold, ear infections and nasal congestion due to their narrow and flat auditory structures.
The hearing screening program at ESF Abacus will be conducted during January 17th 2025 at school, using Otoacoustic Emissions (OAE), an easy and automatic test that can can be found in hospitals that allow insight on your child's inner ear and hair cell health.
