With anthemic bangers, as well as moody atmosphere and catchy synths, Escape From LES' eight tracks don't let up, each song provocative, sending an electric current through you like a runaway subway train in the night.
Informed by Young’s upbringing on the Lower East Side in the early 1990s, and his background in poetry, Young's lyrics range from inspirational and playful to dark and adventurous; always packing a punch of conviction and gritty authenticity.
With instrumental groundwork laid by Finnish producers Tommi Vatanen and Tuomo Korander (AKA BigBadBeats), and earworm additions from Brooklyn musicians Tom McCaffrey and Ben Pagano, the 80s synthwave meets rock n’ roll instrumentals and Fury's raw yet melodic vocals blast off in each song with urgency and flavor.
Young's debut comes after over a decade of working in music as the founder of , the first label in America for musicians in Pr*son and formerly incarcerated. Working with musicians who strive tirelessly to create, despite often impossible odds, inspired Young to give his own creative story a voice with his epic first album.
Escape From LES is a love letter to Young’s hometown, yet a plea for expansion - to see the world, and gain a deeper understanding of life that you can't get from staying in one place forever.
