DE || André Raatzsch, Kurator der Freifläche „Gleichberechtigte Bürger*innen“, wirft einen kritischen Blick auf die Ausstellung BERLIN GLOBAL. Die dialogische Führung knüpft an der Freiflächen-Präsentation zur Geschichte Berliner Sinti*zze und Rom*nja an, nimmt aber auch weitere Stationen von BERLIN GLOBAL in den Fokus. Im Mittelpunkt stehen Themen wie Antiziganismus heute, Bilderpolitik, erinnerungskulturelle Debatten um den Holocaust sowie die Rolle herausragender Persönlichkeiten aus der Minderheit.Die Führung ist Teil des Begleitprogramms der Freiflächen-Ausstellung „Gleichberechtigte Bürger*innen“ des Dokumentations- und Kulturzentrums Deutscher Sinti und Roma. Anschließend an der Führung werden alle Teilnehmer*innen zu einem gemeinsamen Gespräch eingeladen.
Der Kunstwissenschaftler André Raatzsch leitet das Referat Dokumentation am Dokumentations- und Kulturzentrum Deutscher Sinti und Roma in Heidelberg. Zusammen mit dem Historiker Jan Kreutz kuratierte er die Freiflächen-Ausstellung „Gleichberechtigte Bürger*innen“ zur Geschichte der Berliner Sinti*ze und Rom*nja. Ziel seiner Arbeit ist es, die Darstellung und Vermittlung deutscher Geschichte um die vernachlässigte Perspektive der Minderheit zu erweitern.

EN || André Raatzsch, curator of the Open Space “Citizens with Equal Rights”, takes a critical look at the BERLIN GLOBAL exhibition. The conversational guided tour ties in to the Open Space presentation on the history of Berlin’s Sinti and Roma, and visits other parts of BERLIN GLOBAL. It focuses on topics such as antiziganism today, the politics of imagery, Remembrance Culture debates concerning the Holocaust, and the role of prominent Sinti and Roma figures.
The guided tour is part of the programme accompanying the Open Space “Citizens with Equal Rights” by the Documentation and Cultural Center of German Sinti and Roma. After the tour, all participants are invited to take part in a joint discussion.
The art scholar André Raatzsch is head of the Documentation Department at the Documentation and Cultural Center of German Sinti and Roma in Heidelberg. Together with historian Jan Kreutz he curated the Open Space exhibition “Citizens with Equal Rights” on the history of Berlin’s Sinti and Roma. The main purpose of his work is to broaden the depiction and presentation of German history to encompass the neglected perspective of German Sinti and Roma.
