About Aria for M**der. . .

Excitement mounts as the moment arrives for brilliant young violinist Julia Kogan's debut in the orchestra of the world-renowned Metropolitan Opera. But the high-stakes milieu of this musical mecca is rocked to its core when, during an onstage M**der scene, Julia's mentor, a famous conductor, is assassinated on the podium. Thrust into the investigation when her closest colleague in the orchestra is named chief suspect, Julia teams up with opera-loving NYPD detective Larry Somers to solve the M**der. In the process, they are shocked to discover the venerable opera house is rife with a web of secrets, intrigue, and lethal rivalries. But all bets are off when Julia suddenly finds herself the real killer's prime target.

Formerly a Metropolitan Opera Orchestra violinist for 21 years, Erica Miner now enjoys a multi-faceted career as an award-winning author, lecturer, screenwriter, and arts journalist. Erica’s debut novel, Travels with my Lovers, won the Fiction Prize in the Direct from the Author Book Awards. Her screenplays have won awards in the Santa Fe, WinFemme and Writer’s Digest competitions. Erica’s passion for “Bringing M**der and Music together” is embodied in her 3-part Julia Kogan “Opera Mystery” novel series, published by Level Best Books. Starting with Aria for M**der set at New York’s Metropolitan Opera, Erica draws on her own real-life experiences working at the Met with Maestro Leonard Bernstein and other superstars of the music world. The series’ young violinist sleuth, Julia Kogan, investigates M**der and mayhem behind the Met’s “Golden Curtain.” The series continues with sequels that take place at Santa Fe Opera and San Francisco Opera. A resident of the Pacific Northwest, Erica is a top speaker and lecturer on opera and writing.

Writing as dbschlosser, David B. Schlosser is an award-winning author, and award-winning editor, and current president of the Northwest regional chapter of Mystery Writers of America. He’s taught college writing and crime fiction and delighted and offended people in New York Times, Wall Street Journal, “Hard Copy,” and “Inside Edition.” A Kansan, he earned degrees at Trinity University and University of Texas. Read his fiction in The Best American Mystery Stories 2020, republished from Die Behind the Wheel: Crime Fiction Inspired by the Music of Steely Dan, and Coming Through in Waves: Crime Fiction Inspired by the Songs of Pink Floyd.
