“I definitely feel it’s the first song we wrote that truly established a direction and sound for Erase Everything,” says guitarist Grant Sowerby. Angelo Munro agrees ”We are proud of creating our own thing and not trying to be a cookie cutter band.”
The track also helped confirm the band’s name, as Munro explains: “We tossed up some names for the band. Grant came up with Erase Everything, and we all wanted that name. For me, it was like fate - I certainly see Erase Everything as a form of personal choice to create one’s own universe. I believe we are all capable of blocking out the noise and creating our own destiny. So in a way, it’s like: things have turned to shit, so abandon this world we compute and create your own world with the power of your own mind. I really want the listener (if they choose to pay attention to the lyrics) to take what they want from it, really.”
