Employers from the Comox Valley will have a chance to learn how to build workplaces free from discrimination and move beyond simply upholding employees’ human rights. On Thursday, Oct. 16, The Immigrant Welcome Centre (IWC) is hosting an Equity in the Workplace workshop facilitated by BC’s Office of the Human Rights Commissioner (BCOHRC).
The session will offer employers practical and research-based strategies to create more inclusive workplaces and address inequities.
The BCOHRC will share its employment equity toolkit, with opportunities for employers to ask questions on topics like hiring, promotion, accommodations, anti-discrimination policies, and more. Misconceptions about equity, diversity and inclusion (EDI) initiatives will also be discussed.
