About this Event

Want to help shape a movement that creates lasting, equitable, impact in the youth sector?

If you work in the youth sector and are committed to tackling racial inequity, racism and harmful practices, we want to see and hear you!

The problem:

We know that thriving professionals are empowered by organisations that are intentional with their culture and practises related to inclusion, wellbeing and equitable support. Unfortunately, many global majority colleagues in the youth sector face challenges to their wellbeing and performance due to experiences of racism at work or in wider society.

What we are doing about it:

We are bringing together youth sector professionals from all backgrounds, demographic groups and identities to co-create a toolkit that will be used by organisations, ensuring they are providing best-in-class support for their global majority colleagues. This is not going to be a static resource that will soon be labelled “a nice read”, this is a movement. Here’s how:

  1. The toolkit will be a live resource that is regularly updated and iterated based on live experiences and feedback from those using it.
  2. The opportunity to make comments, share stories and suggest adjustments will be available at any time.
  3. We will be creating and facilitating communities of practise for organisations to benefit from peer-to-peer learning as they apply the contents of the toolkit to their practise.
  4. Further co-creation spaces and events will be held to amplify the voices of global majority colleagues, educate one another and further innovate around the toolkit.

How to get involved:

We are running 3 events across England to allow youth sector professionals to shape the first version of the toolkit so clear your schedule and be part of something special.

About us:

TRIUMPH is an independent action group made up of colleagues from UK Youth, the Institute of Youth Work, Think Forward, Young Devon, Local Champions, the National Youth Technology Council, 7PK and more. We are progressing the youth sector through Awareness Raising, Analysis and Active Facilitation to diversify leadership, develop a standard of anti-oppressive practise and ensure organisations are equipped to take ownership over their equalities practise. For the past 2 years we have been working on 3 solutions to sector inequities. Steered and supported by youth sector colleagues we are working with transparency and accountability to address challenges experienced by individuals and organisations from global majority communities.
