About this Event
At 1.43pm the sun will be directly above the celestial equator and day and night will be equally balanced. In the northern hemisphere we will then begin our journey into winter. I invite you to spend some time acknowledging the turning of the seasons and our sense of belonging in this place.
Suggested donation: Minimum £1/£20 regular/£30 supporter (this will enable sustainable success of this offering.
We will move slowly through the woodland, stopping to take part in sensory activities designed to calm the mind and body. Towards the end of the session, there will be the opportunity to lie down for a longer relaxation activity of around 20 minutes. You do not need to lie down and can sit or stand or any combination of these. Everything is optional.
F orest Bathing is a translation from the Japanese, 'Shirin-Yoku' as it was in Japan that these activities began to be used to combat the stresses of city life. Research has shown that the regular use of these types of activities can have beneficial effects on both mental and physical well-being.
I am a strong believer in the benefits of humans spending more time in natural surroundings. Many studies have shown the immense benefits of Forest Bathing and it is my hope that, by offering these activities as donation-based, that more people will be able to participate.
