Meet Decent Dance

Tony Guglietti received his BFA from Tisch School of the Arts at NYU. Upon graduation, he became a founding member of Sean Curran Company and toured across the globe. Kristin Wagner hasn’t done any of that, but she manages to work through her inferiority complex in rehearsal just fine. Together as Decent Dance, the pair creates accessible contemporary performance works that dabble in comedy, dramedy, and all things silly, sweet and true. The duet’s collaborative creative process relies on a foundation of sharing space and weight, balancing impulse and input, the occasional lovers’ quarrel, and Cheez-Its®. Tony and Kristin take great joy in teaching composition and expression through a contemporary dance lens to students of all ages, and have taught at the Dance Theatre of Greenville (SC), Free Form Dance Academy (MA), New England Conservatory (MA) and The Dance Complex (MA). Decent Dance has presented work in Massachusetts, Rhode Island, and Maine, at The Dance Complex, the Boston Center for the Arts, AS220, and the Maine International Dance Festival. Their favorite performance to date was their wedding in September 2022 at the cutest little flower farm you ever did see in Barre, MA. In late 2023, Decent Dance welcomed Nico Guglietti to the company after a lengthy audition process. He made his stage debut in June 2024, at six months old. Meet the Student Choreographers

Mabel Bailey is a homeschooled sophomore and has been a dancer for 6 years. She has been with DTG’s performance company for 1 year and worked with choreographers such as Rebecca Lee, Kristin Sheola and those on the DTG staff. Mabel has performed with the company both locally in DTG shows, and at Artishpere in GVL and has performed at Disney World. She has never done professional choreographic work but this program that DTG offers is a great opportunity to start exploring that part of dance. Her favorite style of dance is Modern / Contemporary and besides dance she enjoys reading and listening to music.

Olivia Lane is a seventeen-year-old dancer who has been a part of Dance Theatre of Greenville’s Performance Company since 2019. She has performed in shows at the Gunter Theater such as Mind’s Eye and Flora in works by choreographers from all around the U.S. She has also performed with Dance Theatre of Greenville in the Equinox Dance Festival, Artisphere, and at Disney Springs. This fall Olivia will participate in a pediatric physical therapy internship.

McClellen Medcalf is a pre-professional dancer and choreographer, born and raised in Greenville, SC. She is a sophomore in high school and has been dancing for eight years. She is currently in the Senior Beta Club at her school, as well as entering her tenth year as a pianist. This is her second year as a member of the DTG Performance Company, as well as her official debut as a choreographer. McClellen has performed in shows including Flora: Awaken the Spring, DTG's Blackbox 2024, Artisphere 2024, and in Disney Springs. She has had the opportunity to work with amazing choreographers such as Rebecca Lee and Kristin Sheola. While she loves all styles of dance, jazz and contemporary tie as her favorites.

Emilia Mertel, born in Greenville, SC is a sophomore at Fountain Inn High School. She has been dancing with DTG since she was 8, and joined the performance company at 12. Her passion for dance led her to the Governor's School's 5-week intensive, where she was immersed in styles like Russian and Cuban ballet and African dance. Emilia competed twice in the Grand Jeté competition, recently placing third in the modern division. At DTG, she has worked with guest artists, performed at Disney Springs, and participated in productions on many stages.

Alice Miranda has been dancing since the young age of 5 and has not stopped since. Alice joined the Dance Theater Of Greenville in 2017 and has been a part of the Performance Company for 4 years. Alice has danced in many performances with her current dance studio. These may include, Mind's Eye, Continuum, and Flora: Awaken the Spring. Alice has been able to grow not only as a dancer but also as a person from the past couple of years. It is safe to say that the arts of dancing will always partake in her life.

Kate Roemmich is a 16 year old dancer who has been part of Dance Theater of Greenville’s Performance Company since 2019. With Dance Theater of Greenville’s Performance Company, Kate has performed in shows including Mind’s Eye, Continuum, and Flora.
