Join us for our next EquineEd event on Saturday, September 6th, at 12:30 PM in the Kentucky Horse Park Visitor Center! This month’s featured guest is Dr. Ferrin Peterson, a multiple stakes-winning jockey and UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine alumna whose career path is anything but ordinary. Balancing two demanding professions, professional jockey and equine veterinarian, Dr. Peterson has forged a life at the intersection of speed, skill, and science.
A former NCAA Division I pole vaulter, Dr. Peterson brings the same drive and discipline that propelled her athletic career into every facet of her work with horses. She is also a humanitarian, host of The Boundless Podcast, and founder of the Boundless Foundation, an organization dedicated to inspiring the next generation to pursue careers in the Thoroughbred racing industry while supporting the welfare of both equids and the people who care for them—locally and around the globe.
In this EquineEd session, Dr. Peterson will share unique insights from her dual career, exploring the perseverance, consistency, and teamwork required to excel in two highly competitive fields. Her story is one of passion and possibility, offering inspiration to students and professionals alike who dream of expanding their horizons and pursuing multiple callings.
This EquineEd session is free and open to the public. Don’t miss the chance to hear from one of the Thoroughbred racing industry’s most dynamic and inspiring figures.
