The meeting will be centered on equine topics this year. 4 CE credits, three of which should be through NYSVMS and the fourth through Zoetis (they will take care of sending the CE form and have NYS approval for their end).I am excited that the topic for Dr Holly Helbig (Zoetis technical veterinarian) will be SAA testing (a stall side test that indicates inflammation in horses). I plan on asking about using the test in other species such as cattle. Zoetis has also kindly agreed to sponsor the lectures.
Dr. Toby Pinn-Woodcock (extension veterinarian at Cornell) will speak on three topics: Vitamin E Myopathies, Equine Infectious Tick Borne Diseases and Equine Diagnostics.
The meeting will be on Thursday, November 6th at the "Buffalo Marriott" which is actually at 1340 Millersport Highway, Amherst, NY from 1-5 pm. Lunch and a business meeting will happen at noon. It will be in person and remotely.
Please sign up through the NYSVMS website if you can. You can come in person and sign up the day of the meeting if you wish. Free for members of the NYSVMS and technicians. $30 for non-members of the NYSVMS.
