Acupressure can be very beneficial to the horse as a preventative care option and complementary care option! Here are more conditions that acupressure can help with arthritis, colic, heaves, allergies, spookiness, wobblers, cushings, and muscle spasms! If you have any specific concerns for your own horse, we can guide you to a point to benefit your horse!
The clinic will be about 2 hours long and will start with some basic knowledge of acupressure and Traditional Chinese Medicine. We will then discuss each acupressure point we will be learning during the clinic and the benefits of each point. You will also learn how to apply the pressure, how much pressure, and what to look for when providing an acupressure session to your horse. This will be followed up with a demonstration of the location of these points. From there, you will be able to work in pairs on a horse and find the points on your own! The instructor will be right there with you the whole time if you have any questions.
Please bring a foldable chair with you for the first part of the clinic. We will provide a folder with an equine skeleton sheet for you to write on for the acupressure locations and descriptions of the points. The sheet has some blank space, but you can bring more paper for notes if you wish.
If you decide to trailer in your own horse, please let us know in advance and bring your coggins. Please arrive early to park trailer. We would like to start the clinic promptly at 2pm.
This clinic is non-refundable! There are limited amount of attendee slots. This clinic will be located on the west side of Jacksonville, FL, but the specific location is not yet determined.
