Let's talk about the nervous system. As one of the less talked about yet incredibly important systems in the body the nervous system shows up in every aspect and interaction we have in our life. It's time to bring it to the forefront of the conversation.
In this workshop we're going to explore all things nervous system. From a yogic perspective we will discuss the function of the nervous system and how it shows up in our day-to-day life, how it gets out of balance and how we can use yogic tools and practices to help bring it back into balance. You will leave with practical approachable tools that you can incorporate into your day-to-day routine to help bring balance and ease back to all aspects of your life. We will explore hatha yoga postures, breathing techniques and guided awareness practices that even new/beginning students can master.
This workshop is half lecture and half a lead practice to incorporate all the tools you've gained. Wear comfortable clothing that allows room for movement. You will leave this workshop feeling energized, balanced, peaceful and more empowered to bring positive change to the parts of your
life that matter most. Led by Sonya Hanlin.

ABOUT SONYA:
Having experienced a great personal and spiritual transformation with yoga, Sonya is eager to share her message of hope with others. Sonya has over 800 hours of yoga training, studying several styles and lineages of yoga with multiple teachers including the world renowned Kamini Desai of the Amrit Yoga Institute. She teaches weekly yoga therapy classes, workshops and yoga nidra meditation classes. Along with being a certified yoga instructor Sonya is a yoga therapy facilitator, yoga nidra facilitator, level 2 reiki practitioner and a certified life coach. Throughout her time at Soluna Sonya has dropped over 70 pounds, weaned off of all prescription medications, let go of harsh self-criticism and has learned to cope with major depressive disorder, severe anxiety and CPTSD stemming from a history of complex trauma. She credits the majority of her success to the practice of yoga therapy- which involves an intense focus on sensation to help release emotional pain trapped in the body. Having overcome these physical and emotional challenges Sonya wants to help people find their truth and to understand that they are much more than what their minds and others tell them they are. When Sonya is not teaching yoga classes or offering private sessions you can find her playing around with her hands in the dirt. She and her partner are co-owners of Be Well Greens Company; a microgreens and produce farm growing ethical and sustainable greens for the Northeast Florida area. She is also the mother of two amazing children, two chickens and a sweet baby boy kitty. Sonya is humbly privileged to be able to share these life changing practices with you.
