An evening of Epiphany carols performed by former Cambridge Choral Scholars in aid of Cancer Research UK's Brain Tumour Research.
About this Event

We are a group of friends who met singing as Choral Scholars whilst studying at the University of Cambridge. We started singing together in 2016 following the diagnosis of a friend of the group with a brain tumour in his final year of university. The group then started singing together in aid of Cancer Research UK, and since then we have raised more than £15,000.

Over 9,400 people in the UK are diagnosed with a brain tumour every year (Source: Cancer Research UK). We hope that with your support, we can help contribute towards improving pioneering treatment methods, with a view to drastically improving survival statistics. We have witnessed the work of Cancer Research UK, and it has already had a major impact in enabling those close to us to have the latest pioneering treatments.

We have performed in concerts around the UK, which have supported us to continue our fundraising work. We have been touched by the kindness and the support that audiences around the country have offered us, and we are excited to be bringing the choir back to Ware, with thanks to everyone at the church of St Mary the Virgin for their support.

The choir is composed of a number of singers who met as Choral Scholars in multiple choirs whilst at Cambridge University (including Trinity College, King's College and St John's College Choirs). Within our respective college choirs, we have been fortunate to be a part of professional CD recordings and tour all over the world, and many members of the group are now well established in professional singing careers. We are looking forward to coming together again for this programme of Epiphany Carols, including music by Rutter, Poston, Howells and Chilcott.

Anything you donate will be greatly appreciated. Tickets for the concert are on a pay as you feel basis: we aim for the ticket prices not to be a barrier to anyone attending.

Accessibility Info: the church is fully wheelchair accessible. Toilets will be available to use. There is a hearing loop for hearing aid users.
