The Environmental Protection Agency will be hosting a virtual and in-person public hearing about the City of Asheboro’s toxic pollution on Wednesday, October 22 at 6 p.m. We need YOU to join us at the hearing to tell EPA that Asheboro’s 1,4-dioxane pollution must be controlled.
If you live downstream from Asheboro or in one of these cities, you may be impacted by this harmful pollution:
Pittsboro (planned connection), Goldston, Sanford, Harnett County, Fayetteville, Wilmington, Broadway, Brunswick County, Pender County, Bladen Bluffs, Dunn, Fuquay Varina (planned connection), Chatham County (planned connection), and Holly Springs (planned connection).

If you are interested in attending the hearing, EPA encourages you to pre-register at least 72 hours before the hearing. EPA will generally assign speaking slots in the order received. You must attend in-person to speak at the hearing.
