About this Event
Hello beautiful people! We and our city partners are excited to invite you to join us at our new headquarters for the official kickoff of the Reconnecting Albina Planning Project (RAPP).
Over the past four years, the Albina Vision Trust (AVT) has secured over $800 million in direct investment to the historic Lower Albina district, laying the groundwork for a once-in-a-lifetime effort that has been recognized as the largest restorative redevelopment in the United States of America. As you know, building a zip code designed around the generational well-being of our most marginalized communities doesn’t just take time, it takes extensive, intentional and multi-disciplinary planning work.
The RAPP is a multi-year planning process between the Albina Vision Trust , Portland Bureau of Transportation, Bureau of Planning and Sustainability and Prosper Portland. This project will address some of Lower Albina’s most difficult land use, infrastructure, and development challenges.
Come join us for a celebration of all that’s gotten us here and all the good work to come. We will present an overview of the planning process, discuss opportunities for community to immerse themselves in the work, and speak about what it’s going to take to get this decades-long, community-held vision to the finish line.
We can’t wait to see you there!
