About this Event
Hey, I'm Kayla and I'm and environmental professional in the area, born and raised in Fort Wayne.
I've noticed over the last 5 years or so that there's several groups and organizations who support environmental improvements and sustainability, which is amazing. I never would've known or expected that prior to starting my career and I'm happy about such a pleasant surprise.
But, in this same amount of time, I've also noticed there's not much collaboration going on between these groups or even much knowledge of each other. I think there's an opportunity to create a space for people like us who are passionate about sustainability and who want to do more when it comes to embedding it in their lifestyles, their communities, and their businesses.
Join me in being one of the foundational members of this group where we can make a difference and set an example for Fort Wayne and surrounding areas. I envision us working together and creating ideas to:
- identify opportunities for the region to grow sustainably,
- utilize each other and our networks to embrace a more local economy,
- reduce emissions through community and city initiatives, and
- produce stronger relationships with already existing small and large companies, organizations, and nonprofits who may benefit from each other's business and knowledge...
...and so much more. I have some ideas and goals already in mind we could pursue, but we've got to start somewhere, and I'm hoping we can take from each others' experiences and build a space for us to network first and foremost.
I'm not looking for you to do anything but bring yourself with your knowledge and some openmindedness :) No donations, no money, just time and energy! I hope to see you there.
