Join us for a unique bilingual learning experience designed for young Environmental Justice (EJ) leaders who want to strengthen their Spanish language skills while deepening their knowledge of environmental justice. 🌿✊
This session blends practice, reflection, and community building. We’ll explore environmental justice topics—like climate resilience, water and land use, urban planning, access to nature, and food/energy justice—through guided reading, writing, discussion, and presentation exercises. You’ll get to:
- Practice reading and speaking Spanish with EJ vocabulary.
- Build your vocabulary through reflective writing and group activities.
- Practice listening and conversation skills in pairs and group dialogues.
- Connect environmental justice language to your community work and leadership.
What to Bring:
- 📓 Notebook or nature journal
- ✏️ Pen or pencil
- 💧 Water
- 🧢 Sun protection (hat, sunscreen, sunglasses)
- 👟 Comfortable walking shoes (we may do light movement outdoors)
- 💚 An open mind + readiness to learn, share, and connect
Who this is for:
This session is designed for bilingual or Spanish-learning young leaders, organizers, and community members who want to practice Spanish in an environmental justice context. All levels of comfort are welcome—just bring curiosity and willingness to practice!
💚 Cost: Free, donation-based event. Contributions are welcome (cash, Zelle, Venmo) to support future EJ and community learning programming.
