Please join our Environmental All Candidates Forum on Sunday October 6th, and get to know where your provincial MLA candidates stand on environmental issues! Doors open at 2:30pm.On October 19, 2024, British Columbians will head to the polls to vote in BC’s 43rd Provincial Election. We will elect 93 Members of the Legislative Assembly (MLAs) to represent us in Victoria.
Provincial Elections are pivotal in shaping the future of our communities and deciding the fate of the natural environment because the BC government has authority (jurisdiction) over most land use decisions in the province.
Since 2011, the SCCA has provided all candidates engagement opportunities for Sunshine Coast voters to hear from candidates on environmental issues. This year we are engaging candidates with written Q&A and hosting an in-person Environmental All Candidates Forum at the Roberts Creek Hall.
We posed 4 questions to the Powell River-Sunshine Coast candidates. Each of these questions have considerable background and context listed on our website - we encourage all voters to learn more about these issues, and where the political parties, and candidates stand on them.
Submit your own question for the candidates for our upcoming Environmental All Candidates Forum on October 6! Questions can be sent in advance to [email protected]. We will also be accepting questions at the event.
