The patterns inside official mail security envelopes were designed to camouflage personal information. In this exhibition Kerry Lander creates a safe space; a fully security-patterned nook where one can feel ‘enveloped’ by an illusion of protection, in a world where our data is more vulnerable than ever. Using relief printing and stamping, Kerry’s designs are inspired by her security envelope collection, as well as decor tiles, kowhaiwhai, taniko, and lino-cut aesthetics – while celebrating the imperfections of making patterns by hand.1 Ponsonby Road
