About the Speakers:
Doreen Wong has built her career at the intersection of sustainability and innovation, inspired by a deep connection to the ocean and a lifelong commitment to nature. With over 13 years of experience spanning Fortune 500 companies, governments, universities, nonprofits, accelerators/incubators, startups and venture capital firms, she has collaborated with diverse organizations to address complex environmental and socioeconomic challenges. Based in Hawai’i, Doreen focuses on innovation, venture building, creating and implementing inclusive, community-driven solutions. She holds a B.S. in Materials Science and Engineering from the University of California at Berkeley and a professional master’s degree in Environmental Engineering from Duke University, with an emphasis on Environmental Management and Policy. Guided by her passion for the ocean and nature, she is committed to empowering diverse entrepreneurs and future leaders working toward a more sustainable and equitable future.
Jennifer Loh, is the CEO & Co-Founder of TRAVARAS, a regenerative travel platform, working to transform the way we travel for the better. Jennifer’s journey into sustainable travel began in her childhood when she learned about Global Warming through an article in Time Magazine for Kids. She knew early on she wanted to work in tackling climate change, but also understood that travel is foundational to human connection and expanding one’s horizons. Over the last 15 years, Jennifer has worked in travel with a focus in sustainability, setting the stage for her vision at Travaras—to create a platform that not only connects travelers with unforgettable experiences but also ensures those experiences leave a positive impact on the world. Jennifer recently graduated with her Executive MBA from UC Berkeley, Haas School of Business, with a focus on sustainability and innovation, and is utilizing her experience and education to pave the way forward for regenerative tourism.
