Program Topic: Become What Intimidates You
Erin Smith, Ed.M., Performance Strategist + Executive Leadership Coach, Driven Beyond Excellence, LLC
Plus Member Spotlight: Jan Schaefer, JES Financial
Erin Smith is a keynote speaker, executive coach, and former hedge fund leader who helps high-performing women trade performative confidence for embodied power. In her signature keynote, Become What Intimidates You, Erin invites audiences to confront the fears, comparison, and limiting stories that keep them playing small—then reclaim the version of themselves they’ve been taught to avoid.
This isn’t a pep talk. It’s a call to become the bold, brilliant, and unapologetic version of yourself you’ve always sensed was waiting.
Drawing from personal stories, psychology, and audience interaction, Erin delivers a transformative message that’s as empowering as it is unforgettable.
Because what intimidates you… might just be the truest part of you
Reframe fear as a directional signal—not a stop sign—on the path to leadership and personal growth
Key Takeaways:
- Uncover the subconscious “safety stories” that hold them back from taking bold action
- Recognize intimidation as a mirror—often reflecting the power they’ve yet to fully claim
- Discover how to move from performance to embodiment, and stop shape-shifting to survive in male-dominated environments
- Leave with one brave, actionable step toward becoming the version of themselves they were taught to fear—and are now ready to become
ABOUT OUR SPEAKER:

Our speaker, Erin Smith, is someone who knows what it takes to lead under pressure-and teaches others how to do the same
Erin is a performance psychologist, executive coach, and former hedge fund people manager who helps high-achieving professionals trade self-doubt for presence, clarity, and conviction.
She began her career in private equity at Starwood Capital during the 2008 financial crisis, then spent over six years managing investment teams at Bridgewater Associates-one of the most intense hedge fund environments in the world. With a master's degree in sport and performance psychology, Erin blends real-world experience with science-backed strategy to help her clients lead with both precision and power.
Today, her work is focused on helping leaders-especially women-become exactly what once intimidated them.
She also hosts The Driven Women Project, a podcast where she interviews trailblazing female leaders to demystify what it really takes to lead authentically in male-dominated industries.
Erin is known for her no-fluff coaching, her fierce belief in human potential, and her ability to help you walk into any room and own it-without losing who you are.

About The Entrepreneurial Women’s Collective (EWC)
The Entrepreneurial Women’s Collective was born in 2015 as a way to offer meaningful networking and professional development to women business owners. Since that time, the EWC network has expanded, special friendships have formed and business has happened, all while learning from some pretty amazing speakers. EWC's mission is to bring smart, supportive women together and watch the magic happen.
When we ask the members what they like best, the #1 answer is “the women in the room”. Words like high quality, warm, welcoming, willing to help one another are heard over and over again. Go to HAYVN.com/EWC to become a member.
