Nibble Kitchen is excited to announce Week 2 of our Winter Supper Club, featuring Puerto Rican Classics from Chef Lymaris Ortiz-Rivera of Kitchen EBS (Entre Balanzas y Sartenes)! With 5 consecutive weeks featuring chefs and menus from all around the world, you can pick just your favorite, sample a few, or pre-order all 5 Sundays and rest easy knowing the Nibble Team has dinner covered!
Each ticket covers one full meal, including an appetizer and entrée of your choice, as well as desserts, drinks, and additional sides available for purchase.
We will have two pick-up times available, 5:30pm or 7:00pm, to ensure your dinner is served hot, fresh, and ready to-go!
Kitchen EBS menu features:
- Alcapurrias (fritters stuffed with beef picadillo) & Mofongo with Shrimp in Criolla Sauce
or
- Vegetarian Alcapurria (stuffed with lentils) & Mofongo with Mushroom in Criolla Sauce

About Kitchen EBS:
Chef Lymaris is originally from Puerto Rico, she enjoys cooking and teaching about Puerto Rican cuisine. Alcapurrias is one of her favorite appetizers, usually done fried, but Chef Lymaris prefers to bake them in plantain leaves. These delicious treat is a dough made with green bananas, pumpkin and taro root, then flavored with sofrito and usually stuffed with beef picadillo (vegetarian option will be with lentils). Mofongo is a traditional dish of Puerto Rico, found in any restaurant and household on the Island. Mofongo is mashed fried plantains mixed with butter and garlic and then stuffed with your choice of protein. Here it will be served with shrimp in salsa criolla, which is a tomato/sofrito based sauce (chicken option available, and for vegetarians mushroom in criolla sauce). Flan is one of the most common desserts in Latin culture. For Chef Lymaris, guava and cheese is one of her favorite flavors, mixing the sweetness of the guava and the saltiness of the cheese. Chef Lymaris Ortiz Rivera joined the Nibble Entrepreneurship Program in 2020, forming her business Kitchen Entre Balanzas y Sartenes. Combining her passion for science as a full-time chemist [Balanzas aka Scales] and her deep-rooted passion for cooking [Sartenes aka Sauté Pans] to share delicious Puerto Rican recipes with the Somerville community. For the past 5 years, Chef Lymaris has been teaching classes at Nibble Kitchen. From teaching students to mash plantains and chicharrón in a pilón to forming pasteles in banana leaves, Kitchen EBS classes are a can't miss! About the Program:
Nibble Kitchen is proud to re-introduce our Supper Club Program! Many members of the Nibble Community do not have the bandwidth (or desire) to take on the full Chef-in-Residency Program, but still want the opportunity to grow their businesses and showcase their cultures and cuisines. Programs like this Supper Club enable Nibble members to gain valuable experience in kitchen operations management, connect with the Somerville community, showcase their cuisine and culture, and mitigate the risks of a traditional pop-up by selling tickets ahead of time!
