This Farmers Market tradition is sure to put smiles on the faces of people of all ages, whether you enjoy exploring the more than 30 produce and craft vendors at the market or making precious memories of fun time spent with friends and family.
Always a highlight of the annual Pumpkin Day, which celebrates the seasonal beauty and tasteful offerings of Fall, is pumpkin painting for youngsters and the young at heart.
They will enjoy expressing their creativity and personality by painting pumpkins in their own colorful style. Come and pick out your pumpkin and create your masterpiece to enter in the painting contest!
Alabama Ag Credit of Enterprise is once again sponsoring our painting contest, which will be judged in the following age categories: 5 years old and under; 6 to 9 years old, 10 to 13 years old, 14 to 17 years old, and 18 and above.
First- and Second-Place winners in each category will receive gift cards.
Pumpkin painting will begin at 8 a.m. and will end at 11 a.m., with winners announced at 11:15. Pumpkins and paints are provided while supplies last. (Important Note: Pumpkins are for the on-site painting activity only.)
Adults and kids alike are also invited to step into the Fall Treat Walk from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. This exercising event is akin to a traditional cake walk, but lucky walkers not only have a chance to win a cake, but perhaps cookies, cupcakes, a pie, some other type of baked goods, a beautiful craft, a soap product , a basket of produce or some other wonderful treat donated by generous Farmers Market vendors and local businesses!
Of course, although the star of the show are the pumpkins, fresh fall produce such as carrots, cabbage, turnips, collards and corn are sure to catch your eye and stimulate your appetite.
Stop by all 30–plus vendor booths to explore all of the great offerings, including fresh-from-the-ranch beef, baked goods, homemade sauces and pickles, jams, jellies, freeze-dried goodies, flavored lemonade, all kinds of baked goods, including specialty cookies and cakes, pies and truffles, as well as a variety of crafts from handmade soaps and jewelry to embroidered items, wood products and so much more!
Shop for Halloween and Thanksgiving, or get a jump on Christmas gift-buying!
A fall-decorated photo backdrop will be ready for you to enjoy taking selfies and family photos to commemorate your morning at the market, which starts when vendors open at 7 a.m.
Activities will begin at 7:30 a.m. with a welcome ceremony led by Mayor William E. Cooper.
