Enjoy an evening of Korean and American folk songs with Ensemble Yeon. The program includes "Arirang," Korea's famous folk tune, along with contemporary songs inspired by Korean melodies. We'll also feature old American songs arranged by Aaron Copland and Negro spirituals.The concert showcases the rich folk traditions of Korea and America. You'll hear variations of "Arirang" and new pieces based on Korean themes. The American section includes a piece inspired by Dvořák's "New World Symphony" and Copland's "Old American Songs." We'll also perform spirituals, highlighting America's musical heritage.
Performers include pianist Minji Kwon, soprano Yu Jung Bae, oboist Courtney Miller, and composer Sanggeun Choi. This concert blends traditional and modern music, celebrating the cultural essence of both countries.
