About this Event
We've decided to start a regular Salon in Downtown Sacramento, and call it "Enlightenment."
The inspiration: Europe during the 17th and 18th centuries, in which many great ideas and innovations from that Age of Enlightenment came out of small group talks held in living rooms.
The intent: Host a few imperfect, convivial gatherings with drinks, food, vibrant conversation, and hopefully live music and local art, with the intent to change the world bit by bit in our own community.

Election officials are preparing for another high-stakes election on November 5, as they are literally on the front lines of the political battle that divides the U.S. today.
Two of those election officials are taking time from their hectic schedule to come to our Downtown Sacramento salon for brunch, and tell us how they’re telling the public how they’re ensuring safe, secure voting, bolstering security to keep their workers safe, protecting against voter intimidation and tampering of the voting process, and basically how they’re staying sane and cool under all the stress and pressure.
We’re going to make sure they enjoy their time off by offering bagels, mimosas and other Sunday morning fare. Join us too for brunch as we talk about these crazy Election 2024 going-ons in the convivial setting of Ruhstaller’s cozy basement taproom.
Ask these election experts your questions about the voting process and get their take on what democracy looks like at the polling place today. No question is too dumb or too small.

Ruhstaller BSMT has a variety of beers on tap, as well as kombucha, wine and sparkling water. Light breakfast fare will be available, but please feel free to BYO food.
