How can teachers strengthen support for students while implementing Next Generation Science Standards phenomena-based instruction?
About this Event

Join us for a phenomenon-driven, three-part professional learning series designed to strengthen language-rich science instruction. Through an intentional focus on teacher clarity, language objectives that integrate English Language Arts (ELA), English Language Development (ELD), and the Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS), along with high-leverage instructional strategies, participants will deepen their understanding of how to make language and science learning accessible and engaging for all students.

Each session will include guided practice, collaborative planning time, and ready-to-implement classroom strategies that benefit all educators.

All sessions take place at the Taylor Observatory in Kelseyville from 4:30 to 6:00 PM

  1. Speaking and Listening in Science (February 23)
  2. Reading Informational Texts in Science (March 16)
  3. Writing to Show Understanding in Science (April 20)

Snacks and materials will be included.
