About this Event
Catalytic converters are an important part of every vehicle exhaust system. They filter harmful vehicle exhaust using precious metals with a high black-market value. Catalytic converter theft is up over 300% nationwide, according to the National Insurance Crime Bureau (NICB).
CVPD wants to help make you a hard target by engraving the vehicle identification number (VIN) on your catalytic converter. This simple act may deter theft and assist police in investigating thefts!
Cherniss Tire World, a locally owned and operated business, will offer this engraving service free of charge on Sep. 17th to the first 50 registrants. You must be a Chula Vista resident and your vehicle must be currently registered to take advantage of this free event. Event participants will be given additional information upon registration. Space is limited! This is a closed event with only 50 sign-ups available for this free service... don't miss out! Event registration closes on September 15th.
*You must bring proof of Chula Vista residency and current vehicle registration to participate. Event registration (via this Eventbrite page) is also required.
