About the organiser:
Hello, I'm Alice, a CELTA qualified English teacher from the UK. I've been working with Bulgarians of all levels since 2016. I run a small organisation called The English Roleplay club. My teaching style is about play and connection. As adults we often forget how to have fun in our busy, serious lives. In my work I mix language practice with role-play and storytelling games to bring a sense of wonder and joy back to learning.
Why focus on women?
As women we have often learnt to be quiet and perfect, and never to take up space or make mistakes. We are often telling ourselves that we are not good enough. Sometimes difficult things happen in our lives, and we lose our confidence in our abilities. I believe creating spaces for women can make a big difference. Places where we can be our beautiful wild selves, without being sorry... Places that help us to step out in to the world again with new energy and faith in our power.
