As part of the international writers' football league, eleven of Austria's finest writer-footballers are coming to Crystal Palace on the 28th May, and if there's one thing we can guarantee it's that the quality of the writing will outstrip the quality of the sport.
Join us for a literary penalty shootout at The Bookseller Crow as the England Writers XI try to claw back some dignity following an inevitable on-field defeat. Featuring exclusive new material from Benjamin Wood (The Ecliptic, A Station on The Path To Somewhere Better and the upcoming The Young Accomplice) and readings from David Annand (Peterdown - 'What A Carve Up! for the post-crash era,' Tribune) and Matt Greene (Ostrich - 'hilarious and heart-wrenching,' The Daily Telegraph - and Jew(ish)) as well as some of Austria's leading literary lights, including Kurt Leutgeb, Martin Amanshauser and Mario Schlembach.
Kick off at 6.30pm.
Scapegoating and recriminations by 8.00.
