About this Event
Join us for an interactive workshop designed for middle school educators who are passionate about integrating engineering and computer science into their classrooms. Gain insights into integrating engineering and computational thinking to create cross-disciplinary learning experiences.
This workshop focuses on YES’s middle school unit, Engineering Medicine Coolers, which challenges learners to design effective insulated coolers to transport Medic*tion. Dive into real-world applications of engineering and thermodynamics!
You will also experience one of the companion computer science modules using MATLAB, powered by MathWorks, Heatwave Visualizations. This module asks students to analyze and visualize heatwave data and consider who may be most impacted. Learn how these modules deepen learners’ understanding of not only engineering, but also the real-world impacts of designed solutions.
Special Offer for MA Educators:
Enjoy discounted registration and FREE Engineering & Computer Science Kits after the workshop! (Use promo code: MAEducator)
