Community members and supporters are warmly invited to join us for this special event and see the latest addition to our fleet. This new apparatus is a powerful and versatile addition to GFD’s front-line response capabilities. It features a 750-gallon water tank, a 1,500 GPM pump, and is powered by a 525-horsepower Cummins X12 engine, ensuring strong performance and reliability during emergency operations. The HME Core 62 cab is designed for safety, comfort, and functionality, with enhanced visibility, increased storage, and improved crew ergonomics.
Stationed at Greenwood’s Station 92 on the northwest side, the new engine is part of our department's commitment to maintaining top-tier equipment and delivering next-level service to the residents and visitors of Greenwood.
The Push-In Ceremony is a respected fire service tradition that dates back to the era of horse-drawn fire apparatus. In those early days, firefighters had to manually push the equipment back into the bay after returning from a call. Today, we honor that tradition as a ceremonial way to welcome a new vehicle into service, celebrating our commitment to readiness and community service.
The addition of this engine was made possible through the continued support of Greenwood’s city leadership and our dedicated community. We invite you to join us in commemorating this important milestone for Greenwood Fire Department and witnessing the official start of the new Engine 92 to service the city.
