Calling all women and allies in the early stages of their engineering profession!
ENGGYAC's Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) Subcouncil will be hosting WinSETT (Women in Science, Engineering, Trades, and Technology) for a Building Skills Workshop on May 25th! ENGGYAC and WINSETT invites you to join us as we connect with fellow early professionals and learn how to promote your skills in your professional circles.
WinSETT Skill Builders focus on introducing crucial leadership skills to early career women (and allies) in Science, Engineering, Trades, and Technology (SETT) workplaces. They are built on the following principles: Live Delivery, Adult Learning, Interactive, A Safe Learning Environment, Professionally Facilitated, and Professionally Organized.
Recent participants have said:
“I came in not expecting much but I came out with a new set of tools that will not only help me
in the workplace but also day to day. Thank you.”
“I did not think of workplace politics as a positive way to progress forward, so this was eye
opening.”
“If you don’t ask for what you want/need, you may remain comfortable, but you won’t get
ahead”
“[Self Promotion: Your Way] was a fantastic course – one that all young women should take
when starting off their careers. I was extremely impressed and will recommend this to other
women in my network.”
“[I will] not assume that everyone in my organization already knows the quality of my work.”
About WinSETT
The Canadian Centre for Women in Science, Engineering, Trades, and Technology (WinSETT) is a non-profit organization dedicated to realizing our vision of a world where women participate fully in science, engineering, trades and technology. Our Leadership Program is designed to support women to enter, stay, grow, and lead and to create a positive culture for women in SETT workplaces.
ENGGYAC Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) Subcouncil
The vision for our sub-council is to promote and encourage equity, diversity, and inclusion (EDI) within the engineering profession. As engineers, we solve problems for the benefit of society, and so having a diverse team will allow us to develop solutions that are inclusive of society’s diverse needs and perspectives. Our sub-council works to create a community of belonging through inclusive practices and working with communities to help address systemic barriers to equity-deserving groups.
