ENERGY PYRAMID (Bham)
NEW AGE HEALERS (Sea)
Seattle based shoegaze band New Age Healers released their 5th album, The Spin Out on Record Store Day, April 20th, 2024. Since that time the band has toured the West Coast, passed 200k in Spotify Spins, been spun on public radio’s Sound Opinions, featured track on 107.7 The End’s Local Artist of The Month, been re-released on red vinyl via KEXP DJ John Richards’ record club (Life on Mars), and more. Songs from the album itself has been spun on radio stations worldwide, and been heavily played on KEXP in Seattle, and WXNA in Nashville.
Since debuting in 2016, New Age Healers have become a staple of Seattle’s fertile underground, releasing five earlier albums in quick succession and sharing the stage with the likes of Deserta, Aerial, The Veldt, Arcwelder, Letting Up Despite Great Faults, Blushing and many others. Besides multi-instrumentalist and lead vocalist Owen Murphy, the band includes a bevy of seasoned scene veterans: Guitarist/keyboardist Jeremy Koepping (Voyager One and Grand Hallway,) drummer Adam LeVasseur (Feed,) bassist Allen Murray (Modern Athletics,) and keyboardist Farkhad Saidmuratov (Kotlovan.)
MO DOTTI (L.A.)
An accomplished work of punk ethereality, Mo Dotti's debut record Opaque (out September 20, 2024) exemplifies the mix of Dinosaur Jr.-esque clamor cut with sweet Sundays-worthy melodies that the Los Angeles four piece have been meticulously crafting over the course of their brief but compelling discography. Building upon the glow-in-the-dark fuzz of 2020’s Blurring EP and the psychedelic pastiche of 2022’s Guided Imagery, Opaque showcases the sound of a band that has figured out how to bend and shape abstract washes of noise in and around memorable pop hooks into songs that reach for the stars.
A formidable live band who’ve been tapped to open for groups like beloved Japanese hardcore punks Otoboke Beaver and were invited by shoegazers Nothing to join the line-up of their inaugural Slide Away Festival, Mo Dotti bring the thrill of their live show to Opaque, which has the aggressive, in-the-room feel of Ride’s first four EPs mixed with the lush yet caustic beauty of My Bloody Valentine in their Isn’t Anything era. Through it all shines the essential quality that has always made Mo Dotti stand out in the oversaturated dream pop field: the songs themselves.
PINK BREATH OF HEAVEN (SF)
Pink Breath of Heaven is a reverie of shimmering guitars, haunting melodies, and introspective lyricism. The visionary project of Liv Field and Rex John Shelverton (Tamaryn), PBOH merges the vast textures of shoegaze with the boundless energy of modern psychedelia, crafting a sonic landscape where color and emotion intertwine.
Following the success of their breakout single "Blue Is the Morning", the band spent the next year shaping a sound that spans hypnotic, slow-burning compositions to towering walls of sound, immersing listeners in a world that lingers long after the music fades.
With performances alongside legends like The Dandy Warhols, LSD and the Search for God, Alison’s Halo, and Ulrika Spacek, Pink Breath of Heaven has quickly become a force in San Francisco’s evolving psych-rock underground, channeling a new wave of sonic exploration.
Their debut album, Colors Make a Sound, distills the project’s emotional intensity and textural ambition into a cohesive, immersive work that establishes Pink Breath of Heaven as a singular voice in the contemporary psych and shoegaze landscape.
SERAFIMA & THE SHAKEDOWNS (Sea)
With a keen eye for life and love, Serafima sings about the experience of a modern day woman in all its sparkle and grit. Through reflective hyperbole and honest observation her lyrics dance their way to the front of your heart, and live in the back of your head. But every pot needs a holder and The Shakedowns know how to distribute the heat. The band brings a unique “un-americana” sound, electrifying classic elements of The Golden Age of Radio, honky tonk, and Russian folk. With an unbridled love for artists like the Grateful Dead and Loretta Lynn, Serafima and the Shakedowns bring a lil sass to the country western world.
“In every performance, what’s been consistent is the way audiences are pulled into Serafima’s songs. The lyrics are unfailingly captivating—endearing and funny in a weird cocktail of earnestness and sarcasm.” - WASH Magazine
