Energy of Yoga: A Weekend Immersion with Stephanie WatsonThe Energy of Yoga weekend training is an experiential immersion into the subtle forces that shape our movement, breath, mind, and overall well-being. Rooted in classical yogic philosophy and made practical for modern practice, this training invites you to explore how energy flows through the body and how we can skillfully work with it on and off the mat.
Throughout the weekend, we will study the Vayus, Gunas, and Doshas—three foundational frameworks that help us understand balance, vitality, and self-regulation.
We begin with the Vayus, the five primary movements of prana within the body. Through asana, pranayama, and mindful awareness, you’ll learn how Apana grounds and releases, Samana integrates and digests, Prana uplifts and inspires, Udana supports expression and growth, and Vyana creates circulation and cohesion. Understanding the Vayus allows you to refine your practice and teach with greater intention and energetic clarity.
We then explore the Gunas—Sattva, Rajas, and Tamas—the fundamental qualities present in all aspects of nature and experience. You’ll learn how these qualities show up in your energy levels, mental states, and movement patterns, and how yoga practices can be used to shift from excess or deficiency toward balance and clarity.
Finally, we examine the Doshas—Vata, Pitta, and Kapha—and how individual constitutions influence the way energy is expressed in the body and mind. You’ll gain insight into how different practices can support or aggravate each Dosha, and how to adapt sequences, pacing, and intention to meet diverse needs.
This weekend is ideal for yoga teachers, dedicated students, and wellness professionals seeking a deeper understanding of energetic anatomy and its practical application. Expect a blend of lecture, discussion, self-inquiry, and embodied practice, leaving you with tools you can immediately integrate into your personal practice and teaching.
Come explore the intelligence of your energy!
