About this Event
Detroit has not only been a haven of freedom, and a city known for Black Power and Freedom Fighting. It has also been a city that was controlled by racists, imperialists, and oppressive businessmen. Many of the most famous historic Detroiters were involved in the slave trade, as well as atrocities against the Native Americans, and oppression of the poor.

On Friday, July 5th, take this walking tour to learn about some of Detroit's Indigenous history, its early Black history, and the enemies of freedom in Detroit's history.
We Meet at the Michigan Soldiers and Sailors Monument at Campus Martius Park in downtown Detroit at 5:45pm to check in. The tour starts at 6pm.
