Every year, Urban Dharma marks the end of one year and the start of another with a candlelight service on New Year’s Eve, starting at 8 pm. At this special service, we sound our temple gong 108 times symbolizing the overcoming of the “108 afflictions” that sentient beings face. This is both a purification of all the difficulties and challenges of the past year and the setting of altruistic aspirations for the new year.
“Endings, Beginnings” is open to everyone. Come early to get a spot as it tends to be a very well-attended event!
All UD events are free to attend. Donations are gladly accepted (via cash, check, or cash-apps).
Our spiritual director will be back from Nepal in time to lead this very special event. [Dr. Lye has been in Nepal attending a historic 2.5 months of Dharma-transmissions from the head of his order.]
